Newborn checks, well-child visits on the standard schedule, sick visits, immunizations, school and sports physicals, and a nurse line for the questions that come up at 7 pm.
What this covers
Riverbend sees children from their first week home through their last year of high school, and many stay with us as adults. Well-child visits follow the standard American Academy of Pediatrics schedule: frequent in the first two years, then annually. Each visit covers growth, development, nutrition, sleep, safety and immunizations, with time set aside for whatever is worrying you most.
Newborn appointments are offered within 48 hours of leaving the hospital, and we keep a weight-check slot open every weekday morning for feeding concerns. Sick children are seen the same day whenever possible, and our providers will tell you plainly when a symptom can be watched at home.
Adolescent visits include confidential time with the provider, mental health screening, sports clearance and vaccination catch-up. Parents get a summary of what was discussed within the limits of Washington law on adolescent confidentiality.

Newborn and infant visits
Weight, feeding, jaundice checks and the two-week, one-month, two-month and four-month schedule.
Well-child checks
Growth charts, developmental screening, hearing and vision checks, and time for parent questions.
Same-day sick visits
Ear infections, fevers, rashes, asthma flares, stomach bugs and injuries.
Immunizations
The full childhood schedule, catch-up plans and honest answers about each vaccine.
School and sports physicals
WIAA sports forms, camp forms and kindergarten paperwork signed at the visit.
Behaviour and development
Screening for ADHD, anxiety and developmental delay, with referrals to Spokane specialists when needed.
How a visit runs
Book the right visit
Tell the front desk your child's age and reason. Well-child visits are 30 minutes and sick visits are 20.
Before you arrive
Bring the immunization record and a note of any questions. Toddlers do better when the visit is not at nap time.
In the room
A medical assistant measures growth, then the provider examines your child and talks through what is normal for this age.
After the visit
Growth charts and the visit summary go to the portal. Forms are signed before you leave.

Yes. We follow the CDC and American Academy of Pediatrics schedule and are happy to go through each vaccine with you. We also build catch-up schedules for children who are behind.
Two children can usually be booked back to back in the same slot pair. Tell the front desk when you call so enough time is reserved.
An after-hours nurse line is answered every evening and weekend. Sample hours are shown on the contact page. Emergencies always go to 911.
