What works by video, and what does not

We would rather tell you to come in than give you half an answer down a camera. If a video visit turns into an exam, we book you in person and do not charge twice.

Good by video

  • Follow-up on something we already treat
  • Medication questions and dose changes
  • Rashes and skin changes you can show a camera
  • Mental health visits and medication reviews
  • Cold, flu and sinus symptoms in a healthy adult
  • Results discussions

Better in person

  • Ear pain, or any symptom that needs an instrument
  • Sore throat where a strep test changes the answer
  • Abdominal pain and injuries
  • New lumps, or anything that needs to be felt
  • Chest symptoms that need listening to
  • Anything needing a same-day lab or a procedure

Never use telehealth for an emergency. Chest pain, stroke symptoms, severe difficulty breathing, heavy bleeding or a fever in a baby under three months all go to 911 or the nearest emergency department.

How a video visit runs

  1. Request a time

Book online or call. Telehealth slots run from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm on weekdays.

  2. Get the link

A text arrives 15 minutes before. Tap it, allow camera and microphone, and wait in the room.

  3. The visit

Same provider, same chart, same 20 minutes. Have your medication list and any home readings ready.

  4. After

The plan, prescriptions and any lab orders go to the portal before you hang up.
